Job Description

The Citrix Administrator’s role is to supervise and operate the organization’s Citrix MetaFrame systems, networks, and applications.  This includes installing, configuring, patching, upgrading, and maintaining the company’s investments in proprietary Citrix technologies. The Citrix Administrator is also responsible for planning and coordinating the implementation and support of the Citrix products necessary for business operations. This individual will apply proven skills to solve issues related to the deployment of mission-critical Citrix software.

·         Evaluate, install, configure, and deploy Citrix MetaFrame applications, software, and/or enhancements to existing MetaFrame applications throughout the enterprise.

·         Ensure that MetaFrame deployments meet business requirements and goals, as well as fulfill user requirements.

·         Assess the need for MetaFrame remote access, security, and collaboration solutions across the organization.

·         Collaborate with analysts, designers, and system owners in the testing of Citrix MetaFrame programs and applications.

·         Ensure that any MetaFrame integration into company systems meets functional requirements, system compliance, and interface specifications.

·         Set and administer server storage space allotments, resource reservations, and directory assistance (i.e. Active Directory, NDS, etc.).

·         Prepare and conduct training and presentations for the edification of end-users and other employees whose workflows are affected by MetaFrame.

·         Perform daily monitoring and troubleshooting of Citrix servers. Identify and resolve systems issues, including installing and configuring patches and upgrades as required.

·         Identify and resolve problems affecting Citrix infrastructure performance, efficiency, and availability in a timely manner.

·         Assess need for any Citrix system reconfigurations (minor or significant) and execute them if required.

·         Analyze MetaFrame application usage and plan for growth or increases in network capacity and/or licensing.

·         Add, remove, certify, and move new or existing end-user accounts and administer permissions and access rights.

·         Develop, implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for Citrix system administration and appropriate use.

·         Administer MetaFrame applications access and support efforts for remote users through a Citrix Access Gateway.

·         Recommend any additional hardware or software requirements needed for successful Citrix deployments, configuration, or maintenance.

·         Coordinate feasibility studies for Citrix products under consideration for purchase, and give advice based on findings.

·         Negotiate contracts with Citrix software and service providers.

 

 

   
Job Requirement
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science or information systems, and/or 5 years equivalent work experience. · MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) Certification, CCA (Citrix Certified Administrator) · 2 years direct experience administrating the direction, development, and implementation of Citrix MetaFrame applications (i.e. XP Presentation Server, Password Manager, Secure Access Manager, etc.). · Hands-on knowledge of Citrix administration tools and resources. · Direct knowledge of directory services, including Microsoft Active Directory · Knowledge of networking infrastructures, including LAN, WAN, Citrix Access Gateway, etc. · Competency as a team leader with good project management skills. · Strong knowledge of software quality assurance best practices. · Strong customer-service orientation. · Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives. · Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills. · Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language. · Ability to conduct research into application issues and products. · Highly self-motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail. · Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. · Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment. · Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws.
